Privacy Policy
Akhada is operated by Pramod Rao (trading as Rao & Co), a sole proprietorship registered in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. For privacy questions, email hello@akhada.app.
This Privacy Policy describes how Akhada (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Akhada mobile application (the “App”).
1. Information We Collect
Account information
- Email address — used to sign you in via one-time passcodes. We do not collect or store passwords.
- Handle and display name — optional, shown on your share cards and (future) public profile.
- Profile photo — optional, uploaded by you.
Workout data
- Exercises, sets, reps, weights, and timestamps you log.
- Routine templates you create or copy.
- Personal records (PRs) derived from your logged sets.
- Photos you optionally attach to share cards.
Subscription information
If you subscribe to Akhada Pro, our subscription processor receives your purchase, renewal, and cancellation events. We receive your subscription status (active/expired, plan, expiry date) but never your card or payment details — those are handled entirely by Apple and our subscription processor (see Section 3).
Device and technical information
- Crash and error reports — when the App crashes or hits a Dart error, a report containing the stack trace, OS version, app version, device model, your Akhada user id, and your email is sent to our error-monitoring processor so we can diagnose and fix the issue and reach out to you if needed. Crash reports do not include your workout data, your photos, or screen contents.
- Product analytics — event logs linked to your Akhada user id and email that record which screens you viewed, when you started or finished a workout, when you viewed or dismissed the paywall, when you completed an onboarding step, and when you exported a share card. Linking to your identity (rather than an anonymous device id) is what lets us understand activation and retention at the level of individual users. These events do not record set weights, reps, photos, or any free-text you entered.
- Standard app/device metadata — OS version, app version, device model, locale, timezone, app launch/close timestamps, IP address (used to derive coarse country/region only).
You can ask us to disable analytics for your account at any time by emailing hello@akhada.app.
We do not collect your precise location, contacts, calendar, HealthKit data, advertising identifiers, or any information not listed above. We do not use any third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To authenticate you via email one-time passcodes (or, if you choose, via Sign in with Apple or Google).
- To store and display your workout history and profile back to you.
- To generate share cards when you choose to share a session.
- To process Akhada Pro subscriptions, including renewals and cancellations.
- To generate AI-assisted routines, customisations, and your weekly recap when you use those features.
- To diagnose crashes and understand activation, retention, and feature usage in aggregate so we can improve the App.
- To respond to support and privacy requests you send us.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers. We do not profile you for advertising.
3. Where Your Data Is Stored
Your account and workout data are stored with Supabase, Inc., our cloud database and authentication provider, in its Mumbai (ap-south-1) region. Your primary personal data stays within India.
Several other processors receive specific, narrow slices of your data so the App can function. Each is named below with what it receives and why.

4. Data Retention and Deletion
You can delete your account at any time directly from the App: Settings → Delete account → confirm. Deletion is immediate — your profile, workouts, sets, routines, weekly recaps, AI generation logs, exercise suggestions, and any avatar photo are removed from our active systems in the same request. Photos you attached to share cards are stored only on your device, not on our servers, so there is nothing for us to delete on that front.
If you would prefer to delete by email instead, write to hello@akhada.app and we will action the request within 7 days.
Apple-side and processor-side records for Akhada Pro subscriptions (your StoreKit transaction history with Apple and your RevenueCat subscriber record) persist outside our control according to Apple's and RevenueCat's own retention policies. If you have an active subscription, cancel it via Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your device before deleting your account, otherwise it will continue to renew under your Apple ID even though your Akhada account no longer exists.
Encrypted infrastructure backups managed by our database provider may retain a copy of your data for up to 30 days after deletion, after which they are permanently purged. We do not access these backups except to restore from a catastrophic incident.
5. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access — everything you have logged is visible inside the App.
- Correct — edit sessions, sets, and profile inside the App at any time.
- Delete — see Section 4.
- Export — email us and we will send you a JSON export within 14 days.
- Withdraw consent — uninstall the App and request account deletion.
If you are in India, these rights apply under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act). If you are in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, GDPR / UK GDPR applies. If you are in a jurisdiction with a comparable law (e.g. California CCPA), the equivalent local rights apply.
6. Children
Akhada is not intended for users under 13 years of age. If you are under 18, please use Akhada only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian. Under the DPDP Act, processing personal data of a child (under 18 in India) requires verifiable parental consent.
7. Security
We use industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest (managed by our infrastructure provider). Sign-in relies on short-lived one-time passcodes — no passwords are stored on our servers.
No system is perfectly secure. If we become aware of a data breach affecting your personal data, we will notify you by email within 72 hours of discovery, and notify the relevant Data Protection Authority where required.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced via in-app notice or email at least 14 days before they take effect. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
9. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from this Policy or your use of the App are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
